If you haven’t read Part 1 or Part 2 of this series, be sure to check those out too!
In this final part, I asked ChatGPT to create a scorecard for me to evaluate my parenting skills. After a brief prompt, this is what was returned…
ChatGPT then suggested that a rating of 1 equates to “needs significant improvement” and 10 is “excellent.” The scorecard is meant to be used periodically to evaluate progress and to promote continuous improvement.
If I was to actually use this, here’s what I would do…
Establish a baseline - complete the scorecard by self-assessing and inputting a numerical value for each category. Include in the notes positive examples for categories where scores were 7 or above and write specific goals for categories where scores were below 5.
Re-test monthly - compare the scorecards over time and measure progress towards goals created in prior periods.
Ask partner for feedback - ideally, this scorecard can be used as a tool to have conversations about parenting style, strengths, and weaknesses. Having time set aside for quick check-ins seems like a recipe for better coordination and consistency.
ChatGPT didn’t disappoint me with these results for parenting improvement suggestions. It returned very relevant ideas to consider and even provided a framework for evaluation.
So long for now.
